As François Desset explains, it's not really "texts" talking about legends, myths, poetry. It's rather highly codified inscriptions on vases : " [Name of the king] made this vase for [name of the god] " => He made the hypothesis that the frequency of some letters could be proper name, like Champollion did with the hieroglyphs.
