about determinizm of chess engines Empty
PostSubject: about determinizm of chess engines   about determinizm of chess engines EmptyWed Apr 17, 2024 10:17 pm

I test chess engines with fixed nodes and I am looking for deterministic engines.

Clover with fixed nodes seems to be a deterministic because it repeated the same game but in my tournament with banksia gui it seems to play 1.d4 instead of 1.e4 and I wonder if it is the fault of the engine or the fault of banksia.

setting was 131072 nodes per move and 1 mbyte hash no tablebases.

usual output in these conditions for first move of white

1. e4 {+0.05/14}
{
109630 299/591/110 is the usual output in many games

In one game I found a different output and I am not sure if to blame the engine or the interface.
