Nice fantasy, but...
1. Laplace Transforms only enable you to solve a certain class of ODEs
2. There is plenty of software, much of it free, for solving ODEs
3. It stretches credibility that someone who solves ODEs all day would not know about transforms (I rate that as "just about possible")
