3..Bd6?? really?

4... Bd6 was a book move. And quite a reasonable one, Stockfish 17 only evaluates it +0.06 in white's favour at d=54.

The point is, that in this line white very often plays Bxc6.

Now if he does so, we respond with dxc6 and liberate the c8 bishop normally.

If they don't, we fianchetto on the queenside.
