Bugs come with programming, they can't be avoided. The vast majority of bugs are easy to fix. The hardest bugs are those programs that after years of functioning flawlessly suddenly start to misbehave. 2 days ago I had such a case, in the 90's I wrote my own pgn parser which I use for the development of NNUE. Everything worked fine for Rebel 14, 14.2, 14.2 and 15.

Until now, when working on a new net (currently ~650 million epds) suddenly I got errors showing funny epds without kings and other very creative but faulty epds. Flabbergasted.... What's going on? No idea. Long story short (lucky to find the bastard within 2 day days only, I once had a bug in the 90's that took me weeks) there were a couple of pgn games that exceeded the maximum number of moves (500) as defined in the pgn util. Doubling the number of moves to 1000 fixed the problem.
