Those countries that are maintaining lockdowns are storing up trouble. Their "immunity deficit" will have to be paid eventually.

I agree. Lockdowns are making people more sick than Covid.

What I remember when number of cases in Netherlands per day is more than 2000 then it is out of control.

So in the Netherlands it is out of control. I expect say at least 4500 new cases on next wednesday.

And many of those people who get Corona are also fully vaccinated...

Not so clear. It was known before from experience in other countries that delta mutation can infect people although they are vaccinated. But vaccination stops severe attacks.

That's what's happening here: people are going out, and not many are wearing masks any more. The infection rate has risen (driven by schools in the last few weeks), but the death rate is low and is declining. People catch it, test positive, work from home for a few days, then go back to work.

Our vaccination programme has served us well.

In russia only 30% vaccinated. Also the people wear no masks.
I guess in a few months they will be completely vaporised by the virus.
Even today the hospitals have few oxygen for the people.
Putin should exchange gas against oxygen for his people. IF he is interested while sitting in his golden palace what happens to his people.

Putin somehow is a victim of his own right wing propaganda. He supported covid 19 idiots all over the world to damage democratical values. That backfires to is own society now.

I don't understand why Russia hasn't acquired herd immunity like India and Brazil seem to have.

The russians die like flies because they do not protect against delta variation in cold weather circumstances.

Operations cancelled in Dutch hospitals thanks to the unvaccinated people getting ill.  Maybe we are getting more measures. Say thank you.

Again they are underestimating. If so they should have started with third round.

This is true - but vaccinated people don't get as sick as unvaccinated ones.

Israel seems to have had a lot of success with booster vaccines: probably the next thing to try.

I also wonder how much further this infection can go: if it was possible for a Covid-type infection to stay strong for a long period of time, then I'd have expected it to have happened in the past. Having said that, if I'm honest, I've been expecting the outbreak to end for a long time, and so far I've been consistently wrong.

I still say that this is probably the last ever pandemic, though: given how effective artificial antibodies (the treatment that Trump had) are, and given that the price of technological solutions tend to drop dramatically over time, I think it's game over for these large scale outbreaks.

Also, we now have a very good ability to work out how proteins fold, which we didn't have at the start of the Covid outbreak, but it seems we haven't yet learned how to use that knowledge to quickly make medicine which cures the disease. There's also the problem that the testing of new medicine seems to take forever.

Finally, the process of making and testing a vaccine has been greatly accelerated in the current outbreak - but it's still not fast enough! Having said that, the vaccines have arrived soon enough to greatly reduce the impact in those countries that have been able to implement them quickly.

Just die at home or go to your own non devellish hospitals. By the way some have shared air with devils worshippers otherwise they wouldn't get infected. So thats why they die. Had better make a wall.

So there were no people send to vaccination camps. This is what you get: Bad or no healthcare for there are too many patients.

I hope this isn't premature, but there are signs that the infection rate in Britain has peaked and has started to decline. If so, we might have the best Christmas since 2019!
