Talkchess trouble

Odd - with Firefox (my default browser) I get the notorious Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server error. With my old IE there is no problem at all.

Hi, I guess it is more about a blocked range of source IP address. Today I have the same 403 forbidden error (from France, whatever browser I use, Firefox or IE9) but using a VPN workaround I can get to Talkchess.

Can't access any longer. Seems that Quentin is blocking IP's once again.

Opera for windows has built in vpn

Installed, can access CCC without VPN. How odd..

But thanks, first Opera look and feel is pleasant.

There are hardly new posts, could be a coincidence, or else....

This is not our forum anymore. They block ips. They ban people. Without telling anybody.
We only find out by hear said or own experience.
But nobody talks about.

I am new to this forum & this is my 1st post. I was a member at talkchess since 2009 & was denied access today no matter what I tried to sign in , which I will never try again. Hope this forum is friendlier. Jjaw

Jjaw, welcome. Use Opera, it has a free VPN connection and your Talkchess problems are over. The reason for the denial of access over there is that the site frequently is under attack of hackers.

Tried with enabled Opera VPN , still couldn't sign in. Tchess has nothing I need , I very rarely posted anyway. Thanks for trying to help. Jjaw

Somebody insulted me as „vollidiot“ in CCC, i complained to the mods that this is an insult but nothing happens. I guess the moderators are blocked too. The forum is complete crap.
One could post death threads or children pornography and no mods would delete the shit because the mods are blocked like all the others.
Insane situation.

Didn't Chris say he'd written a program to copy the database by trawling through all the messages?

British proverb: "possession is nine tenths of the law": if a clone of Talkchess was made by three of the founders, then it would be the shop that would have to decide what legal action, if any, they were going to take. If they did take legal action, then they would have to show legal reasons for doing so.
