Talkchess trouble

On the ownership of TakChess thread.

It is like some kind of computer chess soap opera. I can't wait to see what is next.

Quentin is certainly not against that the community takes over and that we go our separate ways after 24 years being our host for free. I was close for the finishing touch but then HGM broke the agreement and now there is only mistrust.

There are not many founder's left. But we have 3 here that I know. And I was not a founder, but was with CCC, before and after the start. And I have no issues in the founder's trying to bring back CCC. What we have now is not CCC or Talkchess. It would be a sad end of CCC not to try.

Our main goal was to continue a forum like RGCC but with moderation.
A place where the members themselves vote moderators and make sure the computerchess remains vital and alive.

We all want computerchess.
It was not our intention to make money or that CCC is our property or whatever.
We were computerchess fans.
And CCC was a playground to exchange ideas and talk.

I do not know why you are surprised. Several years ago I warned this day would come. And why I objected to the moderation standard. That once elected the moderators could do what every they wanted. Including changing the charter. The moderators were elected to up hold the charter. They were not elected as dictators.

If CCC does ever comes back. I would highly recommend not allowing moderators to be elected as a team. You need some kind of checks and balances. A team has only one mind set.

Again I get Forbidden when trying to access talkchess. Unable to correct a stupid post now.

Quentin wants to know whether there were any recent cases of the 403 error, for users anywhere in the World. I had none myself.

If you are unable to connect at all, I can pass on some infornation because I have no trouble usually to access, only have to log in multiple times when I want to post something.

Because Graham from his New Zealand reports that he has increasing problems trying to visit Talkchess, I thought I'd ask how it is with the people here? I lately got a single warning that the site was not available I think because of the cloud services then being interrupted, but it lasted only for a moment. But no "Forbidden 403" which I think is something else but not sure what.

Random forbidden all the time. Trying to actually post something is next to impossible. Basically unusable.

Access talkchess from France is hopeless, unusable. Been in UK for two days, absolutely no problems connecting.
Country specific denial. But why France? It’s not exactly known as a hackers country. Weird.
