You can appoint 2-3 other mods to help you for life. My vote would be on Thorsten and Chris. Since it is your site you decide whom the mods are. Moderator elections should be abolished and only 3 sole moderators appointed by the owner of the site ( in this case Ed) should function as mods.

I’ve set up a temporary talkchess discord while they work out their technical issues.
What technical issues? You and HGM were telling me how CCC is the best more up to date forum. And how I was wrong for calling this forum "better".As you tried mocking Ed's forum by calling it Ed's Shinny New Forum. As I pointed out the huge CCC issues.
And then as we spoke. I see talkchess.com is now called. Off-the-air.com.
And now you are a member. And when can we expect HGM.
LMAO

I expect when Talkchess goes viral again it will have an updated version with the same extras as we have here. Hopefully the database will be in place.

HGM said he was not impressed with the extras. And did not want them. But my guess is that was talk to down play prodeo. Your site was a bit of a shock to them. HGM thought you made a replacement for CTF only. HGM was none too happy when he saw it was also a replacement for CCC itself.
And I am sure you are right. CCC will have to update. Shows what competition will do! Improve or die.

I really hope the DB remains in place, it'd piss me to no end to lose all the posts and PMs.

If everybody had moved to the Rybkaforum instead of migrating here, then the reinvigorated Rybkaforum would have functioned as a replacement for CCC itself as well.

Since you guys seem so obsessed speculating about me, I thought it might be better to appear here myself, so you can simply ask.
What mwyoung says is not entirely correct: what I in fact said was that I was not impressed with the need to post games on an external website (chessbase) before they could be viewed here, or that diagrams had to be prepared in an external on-line service and then posted here as images. This in response to his claim that the technical possibilities of this forum were so much better than those at talkchess.com.
I also mentioned I was sure that Ed would manage to improve on these counts, as for PGN posting this has now been done through embedding pgn4web. Using PGN as a work-around for posting FEN / EPD still sucks, IMO. It should be easy to do better, and I offered my help for realizing a FEN solution for ProDeo similar to the one I implemented for TalkChess.
This apparently was not the reaction mwyoung had hoped for, because from that point his contributions focused on convincing me to stay away from ProDeo.
As to this website being a 'replacement for CCC itself'... As yet there is nothing to be unhappy about, as the speculation that it could become a replacement for CCC are very premature and far-fetched. There already exist many forums for computer Chess; Rybkaforum was already mentioned, there is WinBoard forum, and Open-Chess. Most of those lead an anaemic existence. Considering the fact that an overwhelming of the CCC members that are not already here were so embarrassed by the presence of CTF that they wanted it gone, it seems unlikely that they would consider the forum that has resurrected it as a good place to move to. Perhaps the ProDeo forum could become competition if they closed the CTF section, but otherwise... I would only believe it when I see it.

Welcome to Ed's Shinny New Forum HGM. ROFL!
Before starting another shut it down campaign here.. You need to get CCC open.

A person who calls a friend of mine a liar is not welcome. Aber die Selbstachtung mancher kennt scheinbar nach unten hin keine Grenzen.

That is Quentin's task, not mine, and he sead he would do it before Tuesday. It didn't sound like anything happened to the database; Quentin just disabled the forum, because it appeared to have repeatedly crashed the server. It is not known whether this was because of server load or software bugs. It seems he is assuming server load, as the solution he proposed was to upgrade the server capacity.
Both TalkChess and ProDeo seem to use phpBB 3.0, so it surprises me that there are any differences at all. Are there several sub-versions of phpBB 3.0? Or is this entirely a matter of configuring it differently?

You realize that this basically is an admission that you want your friends to be able to lie with impunity?
Moderation - You are here in my forum, not on Talkchess were you freely can smear people. This is a one time warning.
